okay, this takes a real introduction. this journal is going to be my personal documentation of my weight loss ventures. i'll answer a few common weight loss questions:

. . how long have you wanted to lose weight?
as long as i can remember. basically since i was eleven and i realized i weighed a little more than my friends.

. . how did you get to be heavy?
mainly my family. my entire family is fat. my mom is probably about 200 pounds at five foot seven, and my sister is only five foot four but already weighs 220. my mom is curvy -- my sister is just massive. my dad used to be heavy but has dieted his way to about 190 pounds at six feet. my house has always been filled with fattening food and family meals.

. . what made you decide now was the time to start?
i had a breakdown in school when i got measured for my graduation gown and i found out my measurements. let's just say i was a lot bigger than i thought i was. i decided that my dieting techniques are not what they should be, and i needed to keep track of myself and become accountable for my actions. i'm going to college soon, and i want to finally be the person i think i'm supposed to be. and that person is not overweight.

. . how do you plan on losing the weight?
dieting. cutting calories. exercising. running. doing weight training. i've tried fasting and i can't do it... i've tried low carb, weight watchers, everything... i'm just going to go at it the old-fashioned way. i hate exercising, and i know that's what's been holding me back.

. . and the big one -- what are your measurements?
this is the only one i'll give for right now. i'll post the rest with a "before" picture later.
height: five foot one
weight: 153 lb
clothing size: anywhere from a 6 to a 10. so probably about an 8.
goal weight: 120 lb

welcome to my blog.
